The Tigers selected Rainer at No. 11 overall out of high school in the 2024 draft. In 2025, Clark hit .271 with 14 home runs, 94 walks and 90 strikeouts across 11 games, including a .251 batting average with seven home runs, a 14.3% walk rate and a 16.7% strikeout rate in 43 games with Double-A Erie. The Tigers selected McGonigle with the No. 37 overall pick out of high school in the 2023 draft. But the Tigers' top-heavy farm system still ranked third in MLB Pipeline's Prospect Points (awarding 100 points for the No. 1 prospect, 99 for the No. 2 prospect and so on) – trailing only the Mariners and Pirates.

Some scouts think he’s going to be more of a second-liner at best. Things just seem to happen whenever he has the puck on the rush, and at 6-foot-4, he’s got tremendous size. The Capitals could trade some of their excess prospects to bring in more immediate help this coming season, but they don’t need to. While he faced heavy fire for a poor performance with Latvia at the 2026 World Juniors, scouts remain high on his elite puck-tracking and athletic butterfly style.

The impressive mark of these six players, with Abel already reaching the MLB, is that there could be two others in the 2025 season potentially called up in Crawford and Painter. Devine is arguably the best option, but he’s not rounded enough for many scouts. Trevor Connelly is by far the top prospect in the system, but he’s coming off a difficult college season.

D-backs top 30 prospects from the 2025 MLB Draft

The 21-year-old outfielder has been on a tear over the past month, batting .321 with eight homers since the start of June. The 6-foot-5 outfielder blasted 12 home runs in June and ranks second in the Texas League in homers, third in slugging percentage and third in OPS. De Paula continues to be one of the crown jewels among Dodgers prospects as he barrels toward making his MLB debut in the coming years. Checking in on a couple of former top Red Sox prospects, both catcher Kyle Teel and outfielder Braden Montgomery saw their stock fall compared to 2024.

An up-and-coming player in Franklin Arias shot up MLB’s prospect rankings this year. Mayer has played 238 games at shortstop through 240 minor league starts. Red Sox manager Alex Cora recently said that the organization is asking Mayer to play different positions. In other words, he rose through nearly the entire Red Sox farm system in one season, as 2024 marked his first full pro season (Campbell was drafted in 2023).

Haley is a polished left-hander with a low-90s fastball and a good curveball, but he is one of the oldest high-school prospects in the class and has an extreme injury history. He's a 6-3, left-handed hitting shortstop, but he needs to add weight to become the best version of himself. Through most of the spring, Flemming has been viewed as likely to go to school, but he's risen late up draft boards with some even believing he could go in the first round.

• The 21-year-old switch-hitter was also pushed to the Majors likely before he was ready, and his 6-for-35 (.171) turn with limited power didn’t help his stock in the eyes of evaluators, deepening his slide off the Top 100 heading into this year.
• This isn’t just a collection of projects; it is a wave of ready-made reinforcements.
• The team looks to be in good shape with a core that already includes Matt Boldy, Kaprizov, Joel Eriksson Ek and Filip Gustavsson.

Ethan Gauthier is the closest, but his high-end offensive potential likely isn’t good enough to really spice things up in the NHL. But one thing the Leafs have that many other contenders don’t is a player with top-six potential. They’ve got players with decent potential at every position, which has been the organization’s strength for the past five seasons or so. The Stars have drafted as well as anyone, with a potential 10 players developed by the organization set to make the opening night roster. And throughout the entire time, they’ve been building up a solid prospect pool, giving them some high-quality talent coming up in the pipeline. While the team lacks an incoming forward in the same vein as Cole Caufield, David Reinbacher and Lane Hutson gives the team two excellent defensive prospects with solid potential.

Jesper Wallstedt is the goalie most scouts seem to pinpoint as the best prospect at his position on the planet. Anaheim already has a nice young core, led by Trevor Zegras, Mason McTavish, Troy Terry and Jamie Drysdale. Benson and Savoie look like top-six stars, while Jiri Kulich had a season to remember in the AHL – and he’s just getting started. Given that they already had one of the best prospect pools in the NHL, adding the best in the game only made them much stronger.

The highest jumper from the 2024 edition to 2025 is Pirates right-hander Bubba Chandler, who leapt from No. 93 to No. 15 after a strong season at the upper levels, especially down the stretch with Triple-A Indianapolis. Tigers infielder Kevin McGonigle (No. 28), Dodgers outfielder Josue De Paula (No. 40) and Marlins left-hander Thomas White (No. 41) also make strong debuts on a preseason Top 100 after missing out this time last year. Padres shortstop Leodalis De Vries – the top 2024 international prospect – also jumped from Prospect pipeline outside the Top 100 at this time last year to No. 18 after looking advanced at the plate and in the field in Single-A at just 17. Jenkins is another potential plus hitter with plus power who could stick in center field, as is No. 4 Dylan Crews, who debuted for the Nationals late last summer. Dodgers right-hander Roki Sasaki tops MLB Pipeline’s 2025 preseason ranking of the Top 100 prospects, followed by Red Sox outfielder Roman Anthony and Twins outfielder Walker Jenkins in the top three. Now, he can add another bullet point to his already lengthy baseball resume.

Demidov is extremely creative, has quick hands, is good on his feet and makes smart decisions with the puck. He led the team in points despite playing fewer than 10 minutes on 20 occasions and was even healthy scratched at times. But when you have Lane Hutson and Kaiden Guhle already with the big club, does it really matter? Montreal also had a handful of other prospects earn some NHL time, including Oliver Kapanen, Joshua Roy, Owen Beck and Jakub Dobes. He’s doing that a lot more now and getting power-play time, allowing himself to be freer and open with the puck on his stick.
